This is one of them:
Days Of Elijah (words and music by Robin Mark)
These are the days of Elijah,
Declaring the word of the Lord:
And these are the days of Your servant Moses,
Righteousness being restored.
And though these are days of great trial,
Of famine and darkness and sword,
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying
'Prepare ye the way of the Lord!'
Behold He comes riding on the clouds,
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call;
Lift your voice, it's the year of jubilee,
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes.
These are the days of Ezekiel,
The dry bones becoming as flesh;
And these are the days of Your servant David,
Rebuilding a temple of praise.
These are the days of the harvest,
The fields are as white in Your world,
And we are the labourers in Your vineyard,
Declaring the word of the Lord!
There's no God like Jehovah.
There's no God like Jehovah!
Our church choir has sung this on a few occasions, and this past Sunday it was included in our praise & worship time.
I.LOVE.THIS.SONG.
I put the Twila Paris version on my iPod and I crank it at least once a day. It just LIFTS ME UP.
Here's the story behind the song: Take a few minutes and read it. It gives me hope.
During the last few days and weeks I have stared open-mouthed at the TV screen night after night as I watched the evening's news. Things seem awful. There is true evil in this world, and at times I know the question is asked, "Where is God during all of this? Why does He let this stuff happen?"
I love this quote from Robin Mark as he explained how he came to write "Days of Elijah":
That these are not days of God stepping back and allowing the world and the church to roll uncontrolled towards eternity, but rather days when he is calling on his body to make a stand, to offer right praises and to declare that He is totally in control.
God's there. He's there. He has a plan. He's calling us as Christians to stand up and be the truth in the middle of lies. We are to shout loudly the hope of God in the middle of despair. We're beacons of light in a world of darkness. We're the city on the hill (Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.")
There is no God like Jehovah.
